🌊 Rip Currents & Swim Safety: Know What to Do 🏊‍♂️

Rip currents are powerful, narrow channels of water that can pull even the strongest swimmers away from shore. They are a leading cause of rescues at the beach.

If you are caught in a rip current:
✅ Don’t fight the current – stay calm and conserve energy.
✅ Swim parallel to the shore to escape the current, then swim back to the beach at an angle.
✅ If you can’t escape, float or tread water and wave for help.

Swim Safety Tips:

- Always swim near a lifeguard.

- Never swim alone.

- Check beach conditions before entering the water.

- Keep a close watch on children and inexperienced swimmers.

🚨 Remember: Break the Grip of the Rip – knowing what to do can save your life.
