Fall is definitely setting in. I had my first fire in my wood stove last night 🔥 It was so cozy and comforting, and I am all about that cozy vibe!

When fall hits, we enter a time of cold dryness, which can affect our circulation and our digestion. According to the teachings of Viniyoga and Ayurveda (Yoga’s Sister Science), there are different practices for each season. In the colder months, we benefit from movement and breath practices that create warmth and support vital energy flow through the body, as well as things we can eat and drink to support our digestion.

Intentional breath-centered movement + the warming spices in traditional Chai are a perfect addition to your fall medicine box and so, we are hosting a Sip & Stretch! Chai Edition!

☕️ Sip & Stretch: Chai Edition ☕️
Sunday, October 26th | 10am-Noon
Soul-Care Investment: $25

What to expect:
✨Asana (75 minutes including rest at the end)- adaptations will be lovingly given 💕
✨Sipping yummy Blue Lotus Chai with friends! It is seriously delicious 😋

What to bring:
✨Yourself - dress to be comfortable in movement and stillness.
✨Your friends!
✨Your favorite mug! *We will have glasses here for you too.
✨Anything that will support you in your practice.

* Our Chai will be made with plant based milk. If you have allergies, please contact us ahead of time, so we can accommodate you 🙏

👉Please pre-register so we know how much chai to prepare 😋 www.littleshopofyoga.org

"Let us carry her torch; not as mourners, but as stewards."

Thank you Jane 🙏

She walked softly through the forest, yet her voice carried across continents.

Jane Goodall was not merely a scientist; she was a soul entwined with nature’s breath.

With patience as her compass and compassion as her creed, she listened to the whispers of chimpanzees and taught humanity to hear.

Her legacy is etched not in stone, but in the living pulse of every creature she defended.

She stood against extinction, against indifference, against despair; undaunted, unyielding.

Her eyes saw not just animals, but kin.

Her hands planted hope where others saw ruin.

And now, though she walks in flesh no more among the trees, her spirit rustles in every leaf, echoes in every call of the wild.

Let us carry her torch; not as mourners, but as stewards.

For Jane Goodall did not vanish.

She became the forest.

❣️Hey beautiful community! I noticed that there are several new faces following, so in turn, I’m following the nudge to do a little introduction refresher❣️

Hi, I’m Laura. I am a Viniyoga E-RYT 500+ AND, I also grew up in Tonasket. After high school, I spent about a decade on the westside of Washington, where in 2009, I graduated from a 2 year long advanced yoga teacher training through Whole Life Yoga in the Greenwood neighborhood of Seattle. I have a magical story about how I found my YTT, but that’s for another day 😉

I moved back to the beautiful Okanogan in 2010 and opened Little Shop of Yoga in July of 2011. I am so proud of what I have built inside the historic Liberty Theatre building that houses the studio! It was a silent film theater in the early 1900’s and is the perfect space for a yoga studio with its hardwood floors and high ceilings! It has become such a special place to practice and be in community ♥️

Little Shop of Yoga turned 14 this past July, and in those 14 years, I have accumulated over 7000 hours of teaching experience! It’s wild to comprehend 🤩

I absolutely love utilizing the authentic, breath-centered approach offered by the Viniyoga tradition to help people find a practice that works for them as individuals.

Each class is based on what YOU need and put together using intelligent sequencing so that your experience is both safe and effective. I offer lots of ways to adapt your practice to meet you where you are, and take you in the direction you want to go.

👉I’ve worked with individuals with back injuries & scoliosis, asthma & chronic pain(fibromyalgia, arthritis, migraines, etc.), pelvic floor & sacral instability, hip & knee replacements, hypermobility, femoral anteversion & tibial torsion. I am a total anatomy nerd 🤓 I even took a cadaver anatomy course!

👉I’ve helped people with balance issues & bone health + insomnia, grief, anxiety, depression & early dementia. Oh, and I’ve worked with pre-natal students as well! This is a non-exhaustive list BTW…

👉AND, because the practice of yoga is so much more than just physical movement (in truth, it is just a tiny aspect of it), I love helping people find ways to calm their monkey minds, tend to their hearts and nervous systems, and find deeper meaning in their lives. Some of my favorite practices are those that go deep into breath-work and meditation. I love mudras & mantra, sound healing, self reflection and working with the chakras and subtle energy. I love ALL of it 🥰

If any of this resonates, I would love to share the timeless tradition of Viniyoga with you! It is truly special to explore practices that have been handed down from teacher to student for thousands of years! I am beyond grateful to my teachers and their teachers and their teachers ✨♾️✨

Swing by the studio for the schedule or check out our spiffy website www.littleshopofyoga.org!
