Working with the MiniSTAR S® gives you the flexibility to fabricate exactly the way you need.

So, when it comes to using zinc pellets or the platform base, what’s the difference?

A model can be placed on the platform or encased in zinc pellets. Use zinc pellets to prevent excessive stretching or thinning of your material, and to keep it from forming on unwanted model surfaces.

Choose the platform base when working with soft or thin materials (1 mm or less) that need to form completely around the model.

No matter which method fits your case, the MiniSTAR S is intuitive, precise, and designed to deliver consistent results every time.

How do you know what type of sleep appliance is best for your patient?

The right sleep appliance starts with the right questions.

1️⃣ Determine the ideal advancement mechanism placement: buccal (Herbst®, Panthera) or anterior (TAP).

2️⃣ Choose your material: Biocryl, nylon, hard-soft combinations, or hard-only options.

3️⃣ Factor in patient habits like clenching, grinding, or bruxism.

4️⃣ Consider anatomical details such as edentulism, partials, implants, or short clinical crowns.

Matching these details to the right appliance type ensures optimal function, comfort, and treatment success for every patient.

Each appliance and every step in the process reflect our dedication to excellence and superior craftsmanship.
