I just wanted to take a moment to brag on the Tonganoxie Team 💙

Strong leadership requires strong support… and occasionally a Coca-Cola 😉🥤

As an administrator, I’m incredibly grateful for the amazing team behind me. I’m a lucky girl to work alongside people across all departments who adapt, grow, and navigate change with such dedication and heart.

We don’t just care for our residents—we truly care for each other. And that makes all the difference. When a team supports one another, it naturally elevates the quality of care we provide. It’s an all-around effect, and I couldn’t be more proud of this group 💙

🐐🐴🐓 Join us for a fun-filled afternoon at Tonganoxie Terrace! 🐑🦙

We’re hosting a Petting Zoo on April 10th from 3:00–5:00 PM, and you’re invited!

Come meet and interact with a variety of friendly animals, including alpacas, sheep, goats, a llama, rabbits, chickens, ducks, a donkey, and even a mini horse! 🐇🐥

✨ This event is open to the community, so bring your family and friends!

💛 We’re also giving back—please consider bringing canned goods to support the Good Shepard Thrift Shop and Food Bank here in town.

We can’t wait to see you there for an afternoon of smiles, animals, and community spirit!

The residents movie choice was Dirty Dancing—and it brought back so many memories for our residents! 🎬💃

Released in 1987, Dirty Dancing starred Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey and quickly became a fan favorite. Set in the summer of 1963, the film follows Baby and Johnny as they navigate dance, love, and growing up.

For many of our residents, this movie brings them right back to the late ’80s when it first hit theaters, or even reminds them of the early ’60s setting—the music, the dancing, and the memories of that era.

We loved seeing such a great crowd come together, reminiscing, smiling, and enjoying a classic favorite! 💙

Sometimes, the best parts of the day are the simplest. 🎨💐
This morning, we got creative making adorable bunny crafts and turned them into a fun bean bag toss game!

There’s something so special about watching creativity come to life and a little friendly competition bring out so many smiles. Laughter filled the room, and honestly, it was hard to tell who was having more fun—the residents or me. 💛

Moments like these are why I love what I do.

Creativity truly lives here at Tonganoxie Terrace! ✨
One of our incredible residents recently created the “Tonganoxie Terrace 10 Commandments,” and we couldn’t love it more. From the thoughtful words to the beautifully hand-colored flowers, this piece reflects the pride, personality, and heart our residents bring into our community every day. 🌸

A special thank you to our amazing Activity Director, Jennifer, for bringing it all together and giving it a polished finish!

More than just a creative project, the Ten Commandments serve as a meaningful reminder of who we are—a place where positivity, connection, and purpose thrive. 💙

At Tonganoxie Terrace, we are proud to celebrate Whitney for earning her RN license—an incredible achievement that reflects hard work, dedication, and heart. Nursing school is no easy journey, and Whitney rose to the challenge with determination and passion!

Whitney truly represents what we stand for—going above and beyond to provide the highest quality care for our residents. 💙 Not only has she advanced her professional skills, but she’s also made a meaningful impact by starting a resident book club to boost morale and create connection.

Our residents are loving it—diving into page-turners like Dear Debbie, Ward D, The Housemaid, and The Inmate by Frieda McFadden! 📚✨ It’s just one more way we bring a warm, homelike environment to life every day.
