86-year-old Beverly Roberts lived out her dream of flying in a hot air balloon.

This month we granted Beverly Roberts wish when she was able to go up in a hot air balloon with her family. Thank you to Brian Carlson of WildTiger Aerosports LLC for helping make her wish come true.

AROUND THE WORLD-AFRICA
We finished up Assisted Living Week by learning more about Africa. We painted giraffes, made wooden African bead bracelets and watched a documentary on Animals of Africa. It was a busy week but we learned so much about different countries and cultures Around The World!

SOUTH AMERICA
Today we started off with a game of around the world family feud where residents got to put all their knowledge they learned about each continent this week to use. For lunch we got to enjoy Ajioci (Colombian Soup) thanks to Brad and his wife Deborah. In the afternoon we got a visit from the three cutest goats. Thank you to Lori from  Helping Hands Homecare for bringing in Dorothy, Blanche, and Rose for a visit. Then we got to learn all about different dances from around the world and see them executed so beautifully.   We ended the day at Em Chama‘s Brazilian steakhouse for a wonderful dinner  and unique experience.

Around The World - EUROPE


We are halfway through assisted living week and today we learned about Europe and its food and culture. We started the day with playing around the world Jeopardy with categories, ranging from animals, languages, food, and the continents. In the afternoon, we had a special European happy hour with different Italian wines, German beers and Scottish whiskeys. We also had different European appetizers and desserts for everyone to try. Thank you to Interm  Home Health and Hospice, and Faith Home Health for bringing food and helping with the happy hour. 
This afternoon we got to enjoy bagpipe music by Jack Williamson, and also learn all about the bagpipes and the Scottish culture. We ended the day with an outing to Paisano‘s Italian restaurant.

NORTH AMERICA
We started off our day telling where in the world we have been and marking it off our world map. In the afternoon we learned all about Latin and mariachi music. Then we ended our day with good old country music from our favorite band. We also enjoyed a Mexican themed lunch and we had BBQ ribs for dinner. Thanks Chef Brad and crew!
