Today we recognize National Funeral Director Day and take a moment to thank the dedicated professionals who serve families with compassion, patience, and care during life’s most difficult moments.

Funeral directors do so much more than organize services. They guide families through unfamiliar decisions, listen to stories, honor traditions, and help create meaningful moments of remembrance. Their work often happens quietly behind the scenes, but the impact they have on families lasts a lifetime.

To the funeral directors on our team and across our profession, we thank you for the kindness, professionalism, and heart you bring to your work every day. We are grateful for all that you do for the families and communities you serve.

If a funeral director has made a difference for your family, we invite you to share a message of appreciation in the comments below. 💙

It's officially the first day of November, which means the Thanksgiving festivities are quickly approaching. It's a season of thankfulness, but for those of us who have lost a loved one, it can be difficult to feel grateful. It's at this time that we are surrounded by reminders that our loved one is no longer with us, and it can be harder to enjoy the holidays with their absence. This Thanksgiving, try to be thankful for the things that help us preserve the memory of our loved ones. Engage in conversations about them at the dinner table, reminisce about holiday memories, and recognize that even in our grief, we find a connection to the love we held for that person.

A common misconception is that grief has a timeline and that one must experience each stage of grief to feel complete. However, this is not the case. It is important to note that everyone experiences grief differently and at their own pace. The following article contains a short video discussing how grieving is not a race, and that there is no finish line.

When we grieve, we can’t control the process. We can’t control how long it takes or how many times it starts over.
