Today we were proud to have Marisol serve as Principal for a Day at Jardine Middle School

Marisol spent the morning visiting classrooms, meeting student leaders, and listening to the hopes and goals of the incredible young people in our Topeka community. Experiences like this remind us why staying connected to our local schools matters, our future is sitting in those classrooms.

We are grateful for the invitation and for the chance to support Topeka Public Schools in the important work they do each day.

Flavio “Frank” G. Herrera, age 93, of Topeka, KS, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Celebration Villa of Hearthstone East. Warren Leslie Schriner, 91, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on November 12, 2025, in Topeka. He was born on March 19, 1934, in Severance, Kansas, and was raised on the family farm outside Denton. This Veterans Day, we proudly recognize our very own Aleck Hernandez, who served in Vietnam as a helicopter door gunner. From July 2, 1971, to February 14, 1972, Aleck bravely flew 175 combat missions, dedicating two years to active duty and six years in the Reserves. We’re grateful to have him as part of the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home family, where his commitment to service continues to shine.
