We are excited to welcome Dr. Omar Farhat, glaucoma specialist, who will be joining Heartland Eye Care full-time starting September 2, 2025!

Dr. Omar Farhat is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma, cataracts and comprehensive eye care. He completed his glaucoma fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute (University of Miami), his residency at Albany Medical Center, and earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas.

Dr. Omar Farhat specializes in cataract surgery and a wide range of glaucoma treatments, including various laser procedures and surgical interventions such as tube shunts and trabeculectomies. He is also an expert in the full spectrum of current Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) procedures, which offer patients effective
options with quicker recovery times. Dr. Farhat’s extensive training in cataract surgery and refractive outcomes enables him to deliver comprehensive care to patients with glaucoma, cataracts, or both.

Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Dr. Omar Farhat and his wife have recently welcomed their first child. He is excited to join his brother, Dr. Bilal Farhat, as well as Dr. Trent Vande Garde and Dr. Rita Tablante.
