A shout-out to the Hospital Volunteers of Kansas who donated the proceeds from their convention's silent auction to the Topeka Rescue Mission. These individuals support their local hospitals through countless activities that engage the public and help ease workloads. Tom Hagen, who is the HVK liaison, presented the more than $2,000 check to La Manda Cunningham, chief executive officer of the Topeka Rescue Mission. La Manda expressed her gratitude to HVK for their generosity and shared that the funds will support food assistance, anti–human trafficking efforts and help those in need during the holiday season.

This week marks the start of KHA's immersive two-day experience where Kansas hospital employees learn how to be effective advocates at the local, state, and federal levels. Participants gain a deeper understanding of the issues impacting hospitals and practice the art of testifying before a legislative body. Past Advocacy All-Stars have gone on to become incredible champions for health care—some have even testified at the Capitol and taken their passion for advocacy all the way to local public office. 💪🏛️
