InterHab names new Executive Director
InterHab, the resource network for Kansans with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), has named its new Executive Director.
InterHab’s Board of Directors announced that Meghan Shreve, who previously was InterHab’s Associate Director and has served in an interim Executive Director role since July, will permanently assume the Executive Director position beginning immediately.
As Associate Director, Shreve worked to advance InterHab’s legislative and policy initiatives, influence public policy and foster relationships with key stakeholders, including Kansas legislators. She was hired as InterHab’s Director of Education and Communications in 2018. In that role, she managed the development and implementation of educational and training programs, including the annual conference, and oversaw all communications efforts for the organization.
Shreve has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from the University of Kansas.
“Meghan has worked tirelessly to build positive, lasting relationships with our member organizations, elected officials and other stakeholders during her years at InterHab,” said Patrick Gardner, CEO of COF Training Services and President of the InterHab Board of Directors. “She is always willing to reach out to state officials and representatives of other advocacy groups and collaborate with them to tackle the complex issues that face our service system. She has demonstrated strong leadership abilities and we are confident she will lead our organization well as we do vital work on behalf of the Kansans with disabilities we all serve.”
InterHab’s member organizations serve thousands of individuals with IDD across the state and form one of the leading advocacy networks in Kansas. InterHab works in partnership with its 40-plus member organizations to educate legislators and community leaders about the benefits of community inclusivity and advocate for the funding and resources to make community-based services possible.
