Pam and Linda, two ladies that became the best of friends because of Interim HealthCare. 🫶🏻

Pam is a volunteer with Interim and has been volunteering with Linda for about eight months.

Linda said their spirits “instantly clicked” and a bond like no other formed very quickly between the two.

“We became sisters and friends, not patient and volunteer.”

Interim’s volunteers play a special role in one’s hospice journey, and Pam will say you do not feel like a volunteer.

“I never have felt like a volunteer, I have felt like a friend and a family member; and that is even more special to me. Linda became my friend and family and nothing will change that.”

Stories like Pam and Linda’s show the power of connection that grows through hospice. At Interim, our volunteers make a lasting difference every day, and we’re always looking for more hearts and hands to join our volunteer family.

This week we’re celebrating Mysti, one of our compassionate Hospice Aides at Interim HealthCare.

Mysti has always had a deep sense of empathy and a heart for human connection, which is what led her into a career in healthcare. She says hospice work is especially meaningful:

This weekend, Interim was proud to be represented at the Holes FORE Hospice Golf Tournament by two amazing members of our Hospice team – Val and Dr. Scarbrough! ⛳️ Their team shot a 61 over 18 holes and had such a great time on the course together.

We’re so thankful for opportunities like this that bring our community together in support of hospice care. 💙

🍁 Happy first day of fall! While we love seeing the leaves drift down, we want to make sure our patients don’t.

The Mayo Clinic reminds us that many falls can be prevented through simple changes:

Add safety devices — handrails on both sides of stairs, grab bars in bathrooms, and nonslip mats can make a home safer.
Light the way — brighten entrances, hallways, and stairways to avoid shadows and dark spots.
Stay strong and flexible — gentle stretching and movement help improve balance.

The first day of fall is a timely reminder of how important safety becomes as our loved ones age. Falls are one of the leading causes of injury for older adults, and the risk is even higher for those living with Alzheimer’s.

This season, many of our offices are walking to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s care. It's one more way we support families facing the challenges of aging and memory loss.
