KCAL is the arm of association that serves the interests of Kansas’s state-licensed-only homes. Recover-Care Heartland Hosts 2026 Care Champion Gala, Honoring Excellence in Skilled Nursing

Recover Care Heartland proudly hosted its annual Care Champion Gala, recognizing outstanding team members across its skilled nursing facilities who exemplify excellence in care, compassion, and service.

This annual event highlights the dedication and impact of frontline caregivers and support staff who go above and beyond to improve the lives of residents every day. Among many deserving nominees across the organization, three individuals were selected as the 2026 Care Champion Award recipients:

• Nurse of the Year: Chris Wiig
• CNA of the Year: Estelle Parsons
• Support Staff of the Year: Goldie Kirkland
