Coalition members include problem gambling, mental health and substance abuse prevention professionals and treatment providers; casino representatives; state agency employees; and concerned citizens. KCPG is neither for, nor against, legalized gambling activities. Instead, KCPG concentrates its efforts on helping those with gambling problems and others affected by this serious public health issue.
KCPG is committed to increasing public awareness of problem gambling issues; providing research-based prevention education programs on problem gambling; ensuring availability of treatment for problem gamblers and concerned others; and offering objective information to educate legislators and business leaders about problem gambling prevention and treatment needs. KCPG convenes at 8:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of every month at Prevention and Recovery Services, 2209 SW 29th Street, Topeka, KS. All meetings are open to the public.
