Forearm fractures, involving the radius and ulna, are most often caused by these 3 scenarios:👇
1️⃣ Falls: Landing on an outstretched hand can transmit force through the arm, causing fractures.
2️⃣ Motor Vehicle Accidents: Direct impact during a crash can break the forearm bones.
3️⃣ Sports Injuries: High-impact sports or accidents can lead to fractures due to twisting or direct impact.
Recovery? It often involves casting or splinting for 6-8 weeks, followed by physical therapy–severe cases may need surgical intervention.
At NJ Pain and Injury Center, we provide comprehensive care to help you on your entire recovery journey. 🏥

A Colles' fracture is a break in the distal radius, usually occurring within an inch of the wrist joint. This fracture is common, especially among older adults with osteoporosis, and typically happens from a fall on an outstretched hand. In severe cases, it can result in a "dinner fork" deformity.
Symptoms include pain, swelling, bruising, limited wrist and hand function and treatment often involves immobilization with a cast or splint and essential physical therapy. Severe cases might need surgery and a prolonged recovery period.
If you're dealing with a Colles' fracture, NJ Pain and Injury Center is here to help you heal and regain function with personalized protocols. 💪
