Fascia is a tough, flexible, and interconnected web of connective tissue that surrounds and supports every muscle, bone, organ, nerve, and blood vessel in the body.
Massage helps the body's fascia by applying pressure to release tension, break up adhesions (THOSE LITTLE GRITTY PLACES YOU FEEL ARE FASCIA ADHESIONS!), and improve flexibility and range of motion. Techniques like myofascial release and deep tissue massage work by manipulating the connective tissue to restore mobility, improve circulation, and reduce pain associated with tight or restricted fascia.
