Meet Amanda!
is originally from Georgia, but has called Greenville home for the past 13 years. While most of her family lives in Georgia, she feels rooted here with best cuddle buddy, a three-year-old Rottweiler Lab mix, Sven.
We are so lucky to have Amanda teaching Tai Chi every Monday 12:00-12:45. It’s the perfect midday movement break for recentering and refocusing 🤍💫
We asked Amanda a few questions:
Q: What called or attracted you to Tai Chi?
A: “I started taking classes during a major life shift, hoping to calm my nervous system. I showed up mid-panic attack and left with a sense of peace I hadn’t felt in years. I’ve always loved martial arts, but I didn’t realize there was a form that could be so gentle and grounding.”
Q: How Tai Chi has influenced your day-to-day?
A: “Tai Chi has become a centering part of my daily life. I’ve dealt with chronic back pain since my 20s, and when I move through the forms regularly, I feel my body supported in a deep and lasting way. On the days when anxiety or depression creeps in, I can turn to the practice and feel my mind settle. It’s helped me slow down enough to actually hear what my body is asking for. Tai chi has completely transformed my life, which is exactly why I feel called to share it with others.”
Q: What else do you enjoy in your free time?
A: “I love searching for new waterfalls, wandering through the woods, dancing to live music, thrifting for treasures, and trying food made with love. I’m always up for exploring a new town, and I never miss a sunset.”
Q: What’s your go-to mantra or motto?
“Nothing cNice Life Photographyanges.”
Q: Something not many people know about you.
A: “I’ve mastered every level of Donkey Kong 😏”
