Join the Bayside Docs Urgent Care team as a receptionist!

In this role, you will check patients in and out, answer phone calls, screen patients to gather the reason for their visit, take messages for different departments if needed, or transfer to voicemail if required. You may be asked to perform temperature checks on patients outside. Light housekeeping is required, such as cleaning & sanitizing patient rooms and the patient restroom. There may be some stocking of forms required, and chart retrieval from basement records room (ability to go up and downstairs is a must).

Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.

This position does require every other weekend.

After a full year of safe and productive use, we thought now was the perfect time to officially introduce you to Bayside Doc’s Medical Hut!

Although it may not look too fancy, our hut is safe, clean, AND heated! In an effort to keep everyone as safe as possible, adults and older children with respiratory symptoms are seen in our medical hut, regardless of vaccination status. Other facilities may choose to see you in your car, but we’re grateful that our medical hut allows us to continue seeing patients face-to-face, performing thorough and comprehensive exams like we always have, in a way that keeps everyone safe and reduces exposure risk.

We consider it a privilege to provide the highest level of medical care for the community we live and work in every day. Although we hope you and your loved ones stay healthy this holiday season, if you do find yourself feeling under weather, come by and see us - we’d love to take care of you.

We are looking for a reliable RN / LPN to care for our patients in a professional and considerate manner. LPN’s will work under the supervision of a registered nurse or doctor. RN / LPN professionals must be qualified and compassionate. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing diverse basic care to those who need it while remaining patient and calm. It is a demanding job but also very rewarding.

This position does require every other weekend.

Responsibilities:
• Record a patient’s medical history & chief complaint accurately
• Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
• Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
• Monitor patients’ condition compose patient charts
• Administer injections, prescribed medications, clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks
• Collect samples for lab testing as assigned (blood, urine, nasopharyngeal & throat swabs)
• Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
• Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide, comfort and review discharge instructions

Skills:
• Proven experience as RN / LPN or similar role
• Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
• Familiarity with hospital health, safety and sanitation standards and procedures
• Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
• Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate and able to handle stress
• Successful completion of RN / LPN license program is a must & proof of current Michigan License

Monday - Friday: 9am - 6pm
Saturday: 9am - 5pm

Unfortunately, Bayside Docs experienced a theft late last night (June 10, 2021). No one was able to enter the building, but several items stored outside were stolen, including multiple ladders and cans of paint.

Security footage has already been turned over to local law enforcement, but we are also turning to you, our friends and neighbors, for help! If you know anything about this crime, or the location of our stolen items, please contact the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office.
