Luke Bunting and Isa Morua, two of our peer recovery coaches, stopped by the Alpena office after spending time working with teens in the PIVOT program. They have been working with the NOAA center to do cleanup and testing of local beaches and worked with a group of teens at a couple local beaches today.
The PIVOT program is an innovative collaboration between the the Juvenile Division of the 26th Circuit Court, Alpena Public Schools, NEMSCA and Catholic Human Services. It is a day treatment and educational program that helps high risk youth stay out of secured detention, remain in the community and engage in treatment and recovery activities while going to school.
