How to get motivated to workout when you just don’t want to....


I read a post from the brilliant that really resonated with this exact question. •

What we expect to happen:
MOTIVATION ➡️ACTION ➡️RESULTS
But what really needs to happen is:
ACTION➡️RESULTS➡️MOTIVATION •

Everyday is not filled with motivation. Take action anyway.
Don’t feel like working out?
Stand up right now and do 3 squats.
Do 1 shoulder CAR on each arm.
Do 2 push-ups.
Feel better? Keep moving. •

Start with an action, even something small and go from there. Something is better than nothing. Don’t feel like crushing an hour long workout? Commit to 5 minutes. Some days that’s all you’ll do, but some days that 5 minutes will lead to a great workout. Win/Win either way. Take action. •

Yesterday I DID NOT want to workout. So I told myself to drive to my gym, and just do my CARS and be done. I had work to do there anyway. And then after my CARS, I felt pretty good so I started my workout telling myself that I could stop whenever I felt tired. Guess what? I made it through everything in my plan. Action▶️Results▶️Motivation 🙌🏻🙌🏻
