HELP US WELCOME DR. CASTRO TO THE GTVH TEAM!

Dr. Alejandro Castro is a board-certified specialist in Veterinary Preventive Medicine with a passion for clinical excellence, public health, and teaching. Originally from Colombia, he earned his veterinary degree from the National University of Colombia in 2014, then completed a Master of Preventive Veterinary Medicine (MPVM) at the University of California, Davis in 2023.

His diverse career spans wildlife rehabilitation, zoological institutions, small animal practice, the pharmaceutical industry, and academia. Clinically, he is focused on general practice, preventive care, and the One Health approach that connects animal, human, and environmental well-being.

Dr. Castro is known for his straightforward communication, high standards, and ability to bring structure and calm to complex situations. He believes in building efficient, supportive work environments where veterinary teams thrive and clients feel confident in the care their pets receive.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Castro enjoys CrossFit, exploring the outdoors, and lifelong learning through reading, teaching, and thoughtful conversation.
