I hear people complain of fatigue, disturbed sleep, irritability, a general state of anxiety.
My diagnosis: because of the uncertainty, negativity of the current political climate we all suffer from generalized anxiety disorder.
How do we stay centered and functioning?
1)Join a group whether it is political, spiritual, or social. Do not isolate. Find your people.
2) limit your time listening to news.
3) engage in every day simple activities: cooking, cleaning, organizing. It helps in giving you a sense of control at least in your environment.
4) spend as much time in natural environment: walking, running, fishing, hiking.
5) if you are in Michigan ,almost certainly you have a vitamin D deficiency. Add extra mineral and vitamins: D , B12, Magnesium, Zinc.
6) Engagement in some craft or art: painting rocks, wood carving, jewelry making, knitting, crochet.
These are difficult, confusing times. Let me know what you are doing to take care of yourselves and let's continue to inspire each other.
