Life Beyond Barriers Rehabilitation Group is an innovative outpatient program that believes neurological rehabilitation should be individualized for each person. Our approach delivers positive client outcomes and experiences. We blend evidence-based rehabilitation with the individual’s unique goals, incorporating meaningful activities into each session.

Life Beyond Barriers Rehabilitation Group is seeking a licensed physical therapist with adult neurological and general outpatient rehabilitation experience to provide services in our Rockford clinic. This is an ideal position for a physical therapist who is passionate and motivated to provide exceptional care to our clients.

Desired Experience & Skills

• Ability to be an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team

• Manage and maintain effective working relationships with referral sources, including physicians, vendors, and other community partners

• Provide a positive impact on meeting and exceeding satisfaction and expectations outcomes for clients and their families/caregivers

Primary Responsibilities for Position:

• Complete comprehensive evaluations using key outcomes measures and develop an appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the client and/or their family/caregiver.

• Provide innovative therapy in order to facilitate recovery and rehabilitation.

• Prepare essential documentation, including but not limited to, initial evaluations, daily treatment notes, monthly progress reports, discharge summaries, and letters of medical necessity.

• Promote and assist in the implementation of programs and procedures with the goal of facilitation and maintenance of the LBBRG innovative approach toward neurorehabilitation.

• Consistently demonstrate professional and ethical behavior in diverse situations.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a Physical Therapist working in an outpatient rehabilitation setting.

• Degree in Physical Therapy from a university or college with an accredited Physical Therapy program.

• A current, unrestricted license as a Physical Therapist in the State of MI

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)

Clinic Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30p

Setting: Outpatient

Salary: Negotiable

Not every disability is visible.

Concussions do not always show physical symptoms outwardly, but a concussion IS a brain injury and can result in a variety of symptoms. Concussion symptoms can include headaches, vision changes, dizziness, sensory sensitivities, personality/emotional changes, irritability, clumsiness, cognitive or communication difficulties or numbness/tingling. The symptoms that are experienced by individuals with a concussion, otherwise known as a mild traumatic brain injury, are frequently extremely debilitating and require appropriate intervention.

National Foot Drop Day is an annual awareness day focused on raising awareness about foot drop. Foot drop, also known as drop foot, is the inability to lift the front part of the foot, and can affect independence and safety with walking, self-care tasks, recreational/leisure activities, and community tasks. This can be the result of a variety of neurological conditions, including but not limited to: stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, peripheral or diabetic neuropathy, Charcot Marie-Tooth Disease, Parkinson's Disease, or lumbar disc herniation/nerve compression.
