Celebrating a 2025 win ✨ It’s the little things.
Last year was the first year *ever* that I managed to keep my hanging porch flowers alive for the entire season. I know, you’re probably thinking…”…but you are a plant person! How hard is it?”
Well, I may be a plant person, because I absolutely love them. But I am also a mom, business owner, community engager, market manager, folk school founder, teacher, and if you haven’t guessed it…a person with an appetite for big ideas that outpaces my capacity at times. Also, a person with ADHD tendencies.
So, remembering to water these porch friends daily, or do ANYTHING daily…is a struggle.
How did I do it? Not with discipline, a daily phone reminder or slowing down my life.
I did it by asking for help. Mostly calling my husband or son after heading out the driveway, remembering the need as I drove by the house, and asking them kindly *once again* to give the porch plants some water.
So I clelebrate this as a win, and a reminder heading into 2026. I am likely not ever going to remember all the things, become a super organized person or stop being a big dreamer with the guts to jump all in….but I am getting better at asking for help. And that is no small thing!
Huge gratitude for all the many, many hands and hearts that have helped these big dreams become reality. 🙏
