Instead of holding a sale this season we are doing what feels in alignment with our values, giving back to the original caretakers of this land we call home, the Anishinaabe, of Northern Michigan. For every sale on our website between Black Friday and Cyber Monday we will donate a salve or tea to our local Tribal Elders. 🙏🌿

Parenting a small business and a small child at the same time is no doubt challenging, but also loads of fun. When I started this business my son was but a toddler (now 14!) and being in this phase of life again brings up so many sweet memories of bringing him to markets, having tiny hands help with small tasks and the sweetest little voice asking for a cup of tea or a smear of salve 😊 (one of the best things this mom can hear). It also has me feeling grateful for the grit that got me here, and the support I have now that allows me to actually get some sleep instead of working into the wee hours nightly.

We’re Hiring! Looking for a reliable, hard working, upbeat and adaptable tea enthusiast to join our team as head of tea production. This position is part time (10-20hrs per week) and fluctuates seasonally. Proximity to Kingsley is key as the hours are variable and some work days are short. Training begins mid February. We’ve added a second session for our Wreath Making Winter Wellness Workshop with ! After the first session sold out in less than a week we decided we needed to open more spots!

Registration is open for 11am-1pm on Sunday November 23rd to join us for a tea tasting, workshop on winter wellness and wreath making workshop. No experience needed and we provide all the materials!

Join Carissa from Lost Lake Farm and Sierra from Bear Earth Herbals for a one-of-a-kind creative experience at the Bear Earth barn: a combination wreath workshop with a mini Herbs for Winter Wellness class.

Enjoy snacks from Carissa’s farm and taste a variety of Sierra’s herbal teas while she teaches us about herbs and botanicals to aid our mental and physical health during the dark winter months. Then we’ll move into wreath making! You will leave with a beautiful wreath of your own creation, no prior skills necessary. Wreath forms, greenery, botanicals, ribbon, wire, and snips provided.

True confession…. 🙈 Sometimes it takes me an embarrassingly long time to remember to use my own products.

I sprained my ankle in late August and initially put some Muscle Rub on it for a couple of days and did the whole ice, elevate thing. Well, after I got off the island we were camping on and finally got some crutches that is. As it started to heal I forgot about it and went about life, but every morning it was achy and each time I stretched my ankle out it hurt in a fairly concerning way. It only took a month and a half of this to think about putting Muscle Rub on it daily. Happy to say three days in and it’s already feeling a ton better. Huh. Imagine that! 😅
