In assisted living, loss is a part of life we don’t shy away from. When a resident passes away, we believe it’s important to honor them by talking about them, remembering their stories, and celebrating the moments we shared.

Avoiding the topic doesn’t protect our residents—it can make grief feel lonely. By allowing open conversations, we give residents permission to feel, to remember, and to heal together. Laughter over shared memories, a tear for what’s missed, and gratitude for time spent are all part of honoring a life well lived.

Here, we choose compassion over silence, memories over avoidance, and connection over fear of upsetting someone. Because every resident matters, and every memory deserves to be remembered. 💙

Which is why here at Our House we are going to start this new year moving forward with a goal to honor every resident we get to enjoy time with here! Starting off with our dear friend Ron. We had the opportunity to attend his viewing today, to say he is missed is putting it lightly. He always had a smile, a yell of your name from acrossed the room to say hi, and was always up for enjoying some games with the ladies! We sure miss seeing both him and his family daily. We all love you Ron and are so happy you are back with your beautiful wife. 😊

We had a truly special day in our assisted living community this past week💐
One of our wonderful residents, Rowena, who spent many years as a professional florist, was given the opportunity to take the lead in creating our table centerpieces for our community event. Watching her hands return to familiar work was nothing short of beautiful.

With every flower placed, her experience, creativity, and passion shined through. It wasn’t just about decorating tables—it was about honoring her life’s work, her talents, and giving her the chance to share her gift once again.

Moments like these remind us how important it is to celebrate our residents’ stories and create opportunities for them to feel purposeful, valued, and proud. 💕

We didn't quite make it to the Willard lights this year so we went out to the next best thing tonight! Tremonton city light show with hot chocolate and cookies! For a small town, we sure have a pretty great light show! Thanks to all the hard work put into it and for running it after Christmas too!
