Today was a beautiful reminder of the power of community, grounding, and shared purpose. Us doulas gathered for an afternoon of reflection, laughter, learning, and well-deserved recharging.

From meaningful discussions to hands-on activities, a little bingo fun, delicious food, and our self-care gift exchange. This space held so much joy. 🤎
These moments nourish us so we can continue nourishing the families we serve.

This morning I had the opportunity to attend ACNJ’s 10th Annual “Stronger Starts” Breakfast Celebration.

Being in a room full of advocates and leaders reminds me why this work matters and how much we can accomplish together for families in New Jersey.

Grateful for the connections and the momentum made possible by a generous donation.

I ended the night with a grounding discussion on Birth Reflections, held in the most beautiful and calming space. A perfect way to close the day and reconnect with the heart of this work. 💛✨

Whether it’s subtle or extreme, the harm is real. And in the cases shown in these videos, it is undeniably extreme. This should never be the norm for any mother, anywhere.

At TruDoulas of NJ, we remain faithful to education, loyal to families, and dedicated to advocacy. We stand with every mother who has been dismissed, ignored, or mistreated in spaces meant to protect her. Birth justice requires accountability and it requires all of us to name what we see.
