The KB4IBW 2 Meter D-Star mix mode Repeater is on the air as of today.145.150 -60 hz PL Tone 107.2 CTSS. I done have the gateway up yet but will be setup in next 2 weeks. Also the new KB4IBW 444.000 +5.0 MHZ PL Tone 107.2 well be up this weekend. It's Fusion Yaesu repeater. It will be linked to Alan's 440 Network all the time. On Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. it will be linked to the Spring Hill repeater for the EmComm Net. The link to the KA4BNI Link system will be turned off during that time and turned back on after the net is over.

Springhill Repeater Association to take part in Field Day 2023 operations


Starting at 1pm Saturday, June 24 until 1pm on Sunday, June 25, the Springhill Repeater Association- comprised of members of the Area Wide Amateur Radio Association (AWARA), members of the Crockett County Amateur Radio Society (CCARS), and members of Haywood County Amateur Radio Group (HCARG)- will take part in Field Day 2023. Field Day is an annual radio contest held by the American Radio Relay League that helps licensed amateurs to hone their skills by operating in locations other than their home stations under less than ideal conditions. Practicing radio communications helps licensed amateur radio stations assist their local communities during emergencies/disasters, in addition to advancing the art of non-professional radio communication as a hobby. Non-licensed persons are highly encouraged to come visit and get on the air at any Field Day site using specially designated Get On The Air (GOTA) stations. Field Day is an excellent opportunity for those interested in radio communication to come and see what amateur radio is all about. Springhill Repeater Association will be operating at Springhill Elementary School, located at 84 State Route 188 Trenton, TN 38382. Everyone is welcome. For more information contact:

ALAN: Jerry Dunlap, W4COY, of Gleason, TN became a silent key Wednesday night. Jerry was one of three people who mentored me in the late 70’s to get my Ham license. The other 2 being Harry Chandler, W4FLW, and Gene Fields WA4HZP. Jerry was 96 years young.

I am saddened to report that former Tennessee Section Manager Keith Miller (N9DGK) passed away earlier today, December 22 due to complications from Covid. He had been in the hospital fighting the virus, but in the end was just too tired to overcome it. Keith served several terms as Section Manager before retiring in 2019. Funeral arrangements will be announced when they’re finalized. I ask you to please keep Keith’s wife and family in your prayers.

CQCQCQ The monthly meeting of the Area Wide Amateur Radio Association will be held in person tonight at the Gibson County EMA building at 1246 Mfg Row Trenton, TN 38382. The meeting will begin at 7pm on Thursday the 22nd of July 2021. We will have a weather training presentation by Eddie Holmes And Jimmy Owen. Also Tom Goodman will be discussing the Tennessee QSO party. A fun and informative time will be had by all in attendance.
