Jones County has placed a sand pile and bags available to the General Public if anyone has concerns related to residential flash flooding. The sand is located near the South entrance of the Civic Center.

Louis Miller is owner/operator of Big Roc transportation Services. He can provide non medical transport to Veterans +. As a veteran, he has a heart for veteran affairs but is available to serve others as well. Give him a call to support this veteran owned business. Do not let finances be an issue. While we prepare for another 10-15 inches of rain and Debby please understand that is will greatly determine what happens by the way the rain falls. The Trent River is at 4 1/2 feet at this time, if the rain stays spread out over the next 3-4 days we should be fine. If the rain comes fast and furious that will cause flash flooding.

If the category of the storm increases to a Hurricane 3-4 level the county has no buildings for shelters that can handle those winds.

Remember to be safe, be prepared, go today to pick up medications you may need during this event.

Have you driven by the Town of Trenton Historic Church lately, if not you are missing the bright white paint, the beautiful contrast of grey and maybe tomorrow the front doors color reveal!

This church has sat a long time in disarray but look at her now! Concrete pillars (4) removed and put inside the walls, sewer pipe will be moved as well! Stained glass windows are being redone was I type. Volunteer’s from all over the state are offering their help. Donations are being excepted and progress is being made! Way to go Trenton!
