Exciting News: Watch for the trees and plants being planted at Hero Park! We drove to Raleigh to pick them up today! Be sure to watch for the dedication of the Church and the park coming in the spring of 2026!

What a week for the Town of Trenton. We started the week on Monday at 8:30 am with a meeting with Governor Stein’s assistant Peter J J. Connelly. At 10:30, Mayor Darlene Spivey attended the ribbon cutting of the Jones County EMS Station 2 in Pollocksville. At 1:30 pm Mayor Spivey attended the ribbon cutting of the Jones County new EOC building. At 7:00 pm Mayor Soivey attended the Jones County Commissioners meeting. Do you know what is going on in your County?

Tonight Mayor Spivey attended a fundraiser for Senator Steve Tyson in New Bern. Get involved, make it your job to know what is going on. Make it your job to not stick your head in the sand. Learn, listen, care and do your part.

What a blessing today has been in Trenton! People have worked, volunteers have shopped, Glenn and Stephen have cleaned, sprayed, spread pine straw, and so much more! Thank you to everyone that has made our town SHINE!

Jones County has placed a sand pile and bags available to the General Public if anyone has concerns related to residential flash flooding. The sand is located near the South entrance of the Civic Center.

Louis Miller is owner/operator of Big Roc transportation Services. He can provide non medical transport to Veterans +. As a veteran, he has a heart for veteran affairs but is available to serve others as well. Give him a call to support this veteran owned business. Do not let finances be an issue. Veterans, if you need a ride to an appointment, give him a call.

While we prepare for another 10-15 inches of rain and Debby please understand that is will greatly determine what happens by the way the rain falls. The Trent River is at 4 1/2 feet at this time, if the rain stays spread out over the next 3-4 days we should be fine. If the rain comes fast and furious that will cause flash flooding.

If the category of the storm increases to a Hurricane 3-4 level the county has no buildings for shelters that can handle those winds.

Remember to be safe, be prepared, go today to pick up medications you may need during this event.

Wow… HVAC coming, newly reworked stain glass windows coming, inside treatment to the wood coming…refinishing of the floors coming… it’s all coming together and it beyond beautiful! Can’t wait for everyone to see it!
