This Black History Month, we honor Dr. Patricia Bath, a trailblazer in eye care. 👩🏿‍🔬 She was the first African American woman to earn a medical patent for her invention of the Laserphaco Probe, a device that revolutionized cataract treatment and restored vision for countless patients. 👁️ Beyond her innovations, Bath was a passionate advocate for equitable access to eye care, mentoring future generations of ophthalmologists and inspiring women and minorities in STEM. 🔬 Her legacy continues to shape the optical industry and advance healthcare worldwide.
