Mercer WIC was out and about this weekend celebrating community, culture, and courage! 💗

Our team joined LALDEF’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, connecting with local families and sharing support and resources.

We also proudly participated in the Trenton Health Department’s “Pink Out” event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month — a vibrant day filled with hope, music, and a powerful parade of survivors, joined by Trenton’s fiercely compassionate firefighters.

What a week it’s been for our CHSofNJ family! 💙

✨ Ariana, our Kidsbridge staff and interns, brought community spirit to the NJ Employees Charitable Campaign food truck festival in Trenton.

✨ Lisa and Valerie shared the proud history of CHSofNJ with the Hightstown Woman’s Club—who, in turn, showered us with baby clothes, supplies, and generous gifts for the children and families we serve.

✨ Yesterday, Lisa, Ariana, Miteshri & Sh*tal (Mercer WIC), Haley (Kidsbridge), and Denise (HR) were warmly welcomed at the Durga Puja celebration in Plainsboro by our good friends at Trinayani.

Trinayani is a community service club that serves as an incubator for philanthropy. Their student volunteers created beautiful jewelry and paintings which they sold to generate donations for our families. We were also honored to learn more about this meaningful holiday that celebrates the triumph of goodness over wrongdoing.

This week reminded us that goodness grows when we come together. We are deeply grateful for our extended CHSofNJ family and the many ways you embrace and support our mission. 💛

Celebrating Culture & History in New Jersey!

This week, Governor Phil Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy hosted a Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration at Drumthwacket, the Governor’s official residence.

CHSofNJ was proud to be represented by Maritza Raimundi-Petroski and Silvia Corado, who joined in witnessing a historic moment: the Governor signing legislation to ensure the history and heritage of Hispanic communities will be taught in New Jersey’s K–12 classrooms.

A night of joy, pride, and new beginnings! 🎉✨

Congratulations to our 19 incredible graduates who are now officially Community-Based Doulas! Over the past 21 weeks, these dedicated trainees completed 80 hours of education under the HealthConnect One model and gained valuable experience through 11 clinical observations. Their commitment and passion shine bright!

This marks the very first cohort trained by The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey in Ocean and Monmouth countie. As an accredited doula training and replication site for the state of New Jersey, we are proud to prepare the next generation of doulas who will bring care, comfort, and advocacy to families across our communities.

The celebration at Trinity Church in Asbury Park brought together more than 60 friends, family, and supporters to honor their amazing accomplishments. Inspirational keynote addresses were provided by CHSofNJ leaders, Maritza Raimundi-Petroski and Duncan Harrison.

Here’s to our graduates—their journey is just beginning, and their impact will be felt for years to come!

We’re still energized from the Start Strong NJ Conference—a powerful gathering focused on making affordable child care accessible to every family in New Jersey.

✨ Highlights included hearing from Lt. Governor candidate Dr. Dale Caldwell, gaining insights from gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli, and an inspiring keynote from State Senator M. Teresa Ruiz.

Backed by the First 1,000 Days Coalition, Start Strong NJ is working to build a stronger, more prosperous, and more affordable state by reimagining how we provide and pay for child care.

Because when families have access to reliable, affordable care, children thrive—and so does New Jersey. 💙
