Announcing classes at Ruby Throated Spirit to begin in February:

ASTROLOGICAL AWARENESS
Mondays, 2:00-5:00 pm, for 6 weeks,
starting February 4th, 2019, New Moon in Aquarius
$250 for entire series, commitment required, limit of 8 participants

We will go over the astrological vocabulary of planets, signs, houses and aspects, with the intention to learn them well so we can focus on chart interpretation--our own and our loved ones' --and pay attention to shifts and changes as aspects arise in the current skies, to see how they manifest in our lives. We increase our awareness of the Cosmic energies vibrating around and through us, the symbolic language of astrology giving us a way to name and illuminate them.

COSMIC HARMONY
Wednesdays, 10:30AM-1:00PM, for 4 weeks,
Starting February 6th, 2019
$35 per class, $120 for whole series, limit of 10 participants

We allow our voices to be instruments of healing, revelation and magic. Acknowledging that there is always a Cosmic Harmony, including everyone and everything everywhere, and that we are part of it, we include Mythology, Nature, non-physical presence,and our own quests, questions, feelings, intuition, explorations and wisdom. We practice trust in the unknown as we allow sound to pour through us, resonating our intentions, the music creating itself through us. The vibrations help us to be healthy, balanced, flowing, and connected to ourselves, each other, the world and the Universe.

Cosmic Harmony is the name I give to my way of working with intuitive singing. This class is now in its 30th year, and although it is ephemeral, it is my body of work, my life's offering. I am currently attempting to write a book to capture it enough to transmit beyond you who experience it in person. I may ask your help in verbalizing what we do.

GUIDED MEDITATION with SOUND
Tuesdays, 4:30-6:00 PM, ongoing (schedule subject to change)
Donation

This meditation practise includes choosing cards from the Voyager Tarot, with some discussion before I weave a Guided Meditation from the themes of the cards. We culminate with sounding, our voices resonating a specific intention, taking us deeper into the meditation and creating Cosmic Harmony.
We have been meditating weekly in this way since 2001. People are welcome to come when they can but must rsvp so we know whether or not to expect you.

Andrea Goodman, of Ruby-Throated Spirit in Maine, is coming to the Seattle-Tacoma area in March.
She will be available for astrology and Tarot readings Monday and Tuesday, March 28-29.

Astrologer, sound-healer, singer, composer, actress, voice teacher, author and priestess,
she has been reading professionally over thirty years and has clients via Skype across the US and Canada, and in Europe.
Her approach, including mythic astrology, is positive and affirming, aimed at deeper self-understanding and self acceptance
rather than prediction. She does see the approaching themes and opportunities for growth, but not literal events.

Ruby-Throated Spirit, on a Maine Coast island, is her home as well as sanctuary, voice studio, retreat center and labyrinth.
Ordained in 1998 as a minister/priestess, she creates and performs sacred ceremonies including weddings for any couple.
She hosts private and small group retreats and regularly facilitates meditation groups and Cosmic Harmony: Vocal Sound-Healing circles.

Her performing career includes 17 years with the Meredith Monk Vocal Ensemble, appearing in concerts, theater pieces, recordings and films,
and in Maine, with Figures of Speech Theatre, as composer, singer, actress and puppeteer. She also performs improvisationally with Anna Dembska,
as the vocal duo, Music of New Frequency.

Andrea is the author of Lightning Holds My Hand, A Woman’s Journal of Guidance, and has contributed essay and poetry to anthologies.
She writes a monthly astrology column, Andrea’s Astro-Witchery for the on-line magazine, Poetry Witch.

Waters of Forgiveness

The Sun entered Pisces February 19th this year and will swim until the Spring Equinox on March 20th. Our sense of reality is shifting and changing like the surface of the ocean, and we are carried by currents of feeling, tossed by stormy waves, lapped by the tides. The qualities of Pisces, ruled by Neptune, are easily understood through the metaphor of the sea--unfathomable, ever-moving, all-encompassing, mysterious and powerful. The sea is our closest physical experience to what is infinite and unknowable. Water finds its way to water. A drop disappears as it rejoins the source. Our limited existence dissolves through consciousness into the vast cosmic matrix where we find ourselves limitless. Whatever is brought to water is cleansed, smoothed, dissolved and embraced.



Piscean power is amplified and multiplied this year by the presence of Neptune itself in Pisces along with Chiron, the Healer, in Pisces. For the New Moon on March 8th, when Sun and Moon are together in a Solar Eclipse, Chiron sits right beside them and Jupiter is aligned exactly opposite, shining at its brightest. Jupiter brings enthusiasm and generosity to celebrate the beginning of a new lunar cycle that is all about Pisces. Our dreams and visions, our sensitivity and vulnerability, our creative imagination and our compassion are brought to the surface for our awareness. Mercury, planet of intellect and communication, is also soaked in Pisces as of March 5th, so our attention and conversation naturally carries us deeper into these immeasurable realms. Venus will also come into Pisces on March 12th, adding her loving, romantic, beauty-filled perspective. And then, just as the Sun moves on into Aries, Venus will be conjunct Neptune, combining personal love with universal love.



Allow yourself to float on these waters. Allow time to stretch and bend. Listen to music that carries you into pure vibration. Follow your daydreams and currents of thought that pull memories and vague impressions together, that swirl around an idea, an intuition. Bring your suffering to this healing water, offer your anger to the ocean of salty tears, forgive yourself for whatever you imagine you did or did not. Forgive your memory. Forgive your story. Dissolve into the compassionate arms of the Divine Ones who live in the Infinite Sea of Compassion. Be washed, lulled, carried away. Something new will come of this. Let your focus be soft as it gently arrives through the mist of mystery.
