Aveanna patient Natalie was joined by her direct care worker, her parents, and the Aveanna team for a visit with Representative Sappey to share her experience receiving Personal Assistance Services (PAS) in Pennsylvania.

Natalie and her family spoke about how PAS help her live safely and independently at home, and why access to these services is so important for individuals and families across the state.

Thank you, Rep. Christina Sappey for taking the time to meet with Natalie and supporting higher PAS reimbursement rates. Supporting the direct care workforce is essential to ensuring Pennsylvanians can continue receiving the care they depend on in their homes and communities.

Today is Trisomy 13 Awareness Day, and we're honored to shine a light on Aveanna patient Layne and Nurse Dustin!

With his complex condition, also known as Patau syndrome, Layne requires round-the-clock care. Nurse Dustin helps support him with feedings through his G-tube, monitors the use of his Chest Physical Therapy (CPT) vest, and completes exercises to improve Layne's range of motion.

Layne's Aveanna care team provides the stability and expertise his family needs to ensure their little boy is safe and healthy as he navigates the world with his complex condition. We're thrilled to partner with him so he can continue to bring joy to everyone around him!

Today, we celebrate Layne and recognize the strength and resilience of all our patients living with this diagnosis.

March is Trisomy Awareness Month!

Trisomy is a genetic condition where a person is born with an extra chromosome instead of the usual pair. The number that follows indicates which chromosome pair has the third copy. While Trisomy occurs spontaneously, the risk of having a child with a Trisomy condition increases after a women reaches 35 years old.

Throughout this month, Aveanna is honored to recognize the beautifully unique qualities of those we care for with Trisomy conditions. This month and every month, we celebrate you and the gifts you bring to our world.
