Fran Pierce Appointed as Vice-Chair of the International Eye Foundation

Fran Pierce, Chairman and CEO of Data Systems Analysts, an organization that is an innovative leader delivering secure technology and information management solutions to Federal and State Governments and commercial enterprises, has been appointed Vice Chair of the International Eye Foundation (IEF) Board of Directors. She is currently serving her sixth term on the Board of Directors, and she serves on the IEF Finance and Development Committees.

Founded in 1961, The International Eye Foundation mission is to eliminate preventable and treatable blindness by increasing affordability and access to quality, comprehensive, and sustainable eye care services worldwide. IEF builds capacity for quality clinical and patient services through clinical and management training, creating efficiencies and a level of self-financing, and including eye care services for people experiencing poverty.

DSA and Neshaminy Interplex are committed to supporting the American Red Cross. With the many recent disastrous storms, there is an enormous need for blood donations across our country. This year, we will be hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, June 13th from 8:30 AM – 1: 30 PM in Trevose, and we would invite all in the area to stop in if you are able to donate. The need is great, and many areas are looking to schedule donors, so please consider donating blood. https://lnkd.in/e3AjDKm

The Northern Maryland Technology Council hosted the annual Visionary Awards where DSA awardees Alvie Johnson in the Leader Category and Bill Jones in the Innovator Category were recognized.

Alvie serves as DSA’s Senior Vice President for Business Development and has served in leadership roles for multiple DoD and commercial support organizations with a large focus on advancing STEM. He is the Executive Vice President for AFCEA National Capital Region and is responsible for overseeing over 17,000 members and Programs across the National Capital Region that provide over $350,000 annually to STEM students and STEM programs. He serves as Committee Chairman for the Inclusion Diversity, Equity and Access Committee. He actively serves as Board member for the “Blacks on Wall Street”. He is action-oriented and furthers the intent of the program to attract students in underserved communities to join STEM clubs, earn continuing education credits, and receive mentoring opportunities to ultimately pursue careers in the STEM field.

Bill Jones is the Senior Vice President for DSA’s Integrated Solutions Group. As a strategic thinker and leader, Bill works with DSA customers and inspires his team to build innovative solutions that improve performance in all critical mission areas of the Information Technology spectrum. He has been directly responsible for supporting and overseeing the award of $1.5M in scholarships, teacher grants, and school grants in support of STEM initiatives. Bill supported other STEM activities including judging at annual Regional Science Fairs and supporting local schools with $2,500 grants.

A shout out to our team recognized at a JPEO CBRND, Joint Program Manager for CBRN Medical All Hands meeting. DSA's Jonas Vogelhut presented a Superior Service Award to Sr Business Analyst, Harshini Dinesdurage-Fernando for her support managing the medical-related technology transfer program and Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) tracking to reduce the development and fielding timelines of advanced medical vaccines, antidotes, and diagnostic tools critical for Warfighter deployments and operations. Congratulations!
