Jack Owens made a meaningful stop at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Jefferson in the Northeast on his way to Ocean City after completing an incredible cross-country bike ride in support of lung cancer patients. 🚴‍♂️💙

Starting in San Francisco on May 20, Jack pedaled nearly 3,600 miles over 40+ days—climbing more than 100,000 feet—to raise funds and awareness for Ride Hard Breathe Easy, the organization founded by his uncle and inspired by his late grandmother, who passed away from lung cancer in 2011.

We were honored to cheer Jack on and celebrate his journey with a small gathering and a cool treat when he stopped by on July 3. His ride ended with a powerful moment: dipping his front tire in the Atlantic Ocean, completing the symbolic ride from coast to coast. 🌊🌉

Thanks to Jack’s determination, more than $40,000 was raised to support lung cancer patients. We’re proud to have been partners with Ride Hard Breathe Easy since 2020 and even prouder to support champions like Jack. 💪

The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Jefferson recently hosted an educational tabling event at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital to raise awareness about sarcoma. 💛 This initiative helped patients, visitors, and staff learn more about this rare cancer type, its symptoms, and the importance of early detection.

At 31 weeks pregnant, Audrey Delp, a 32-year-old nurse at Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital, woke up with the worst headache of her life. Tests ruled out preeclampsia, but Audrey trusted her instincts—and that decision may have saved two lives.

A rare brain bleed led to an emergency flight to Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, where neurosurgeon Dr. Ritam Ghosh was preparing to perform a craniotomy. But just before the surgery, fetal monitoring revealed her baby was in distress.

In a remarkable moment of teamwork, maternal-fetal medicine specialist Dr. Whitney Bender and a team of other Jefferson clinicians performed an emergency C-section, right there in the neuroscience unit, delivering baby Ronin safely before Audrey underwent a 12-hour craniotomy to save Audrey.

Today, both Audrey and baby Ronin are home, healthy, and thriving.
