Honoring all who served.

Today and every day, we thank our veterans for their courage, sacrifice, and service.

One of the small, behind-the-scenes ways we honor the veterans we serve: when a flag arrives for military honors, it often comes with deep wrinkles from storage. Before it’s folded or draped, we carefully iron out those wrinkles - because every detail matters when paying tribute to those who served our country.

Grief in the military community often looks different. Many Veterans have endured loss while still serving, unable to pause and process the death of a comrade. This delay can surface later in life as delayed grief - feelings of sadness, guilt, or emptiness that may appear long after the loss occurred. It’s not weakness; it’s the natural human response to pain that has to be set aside for survival.

Healing begins with three powerful steps:

π“π€π‹πŠ β€” Sharing your story can be the first step toward release. Speak with another Veteran, a trusted friend, or a counselor who understands. You don’t have to carry it alone.

π‚πŽπππ„π‚π“ β€” Many organizations, such as the National Veterans Foundation, offer crisis support and peer programs to help Veterans navigate grief and trauma. Connection reminds us we are never alone in this journey.

π€πƒπ•πŽπ‚π€π“π„ β€” Supporting one another strengthens the community. Whether helping a fellow Veteran access benefits or speaking openly about grief, advocacy turns pain into purpose.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out - support is available, and healing is possible.

🦌 5 Ways to Stay Safe this Hunting Season! 🎯

It’s that time of year again! 🦌 Crystal is already reminiscing about her deer from last season and can’t wait to head back out tomorrow for opening day. Whether you’re a first-time hunter or a lifelong one, it’s always important to remember a few basic safety tips before heading out.

From all of us here at Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center, we wish everyone a safe and successful hunting season.

πŸ‘‰ 1. Wear bright, highly visible clothing
Always wear blaze orange or another bright color so you’re easily seen by other hunters. This includes a hat, vest, and any other clothing that helps you stand out in the woods.

πŸ‘‰ 2. Know your surroundings
Familiarize yourself with the area where you plan to hunt - know where others might be, the trails, and any potential hazards.

πŸ‘‰ 3. Use firearm safety measures
Treat every firearm as if it’s loaded and always point the muzzle in a safe direction. Keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to shoot, and make sure of your target and what’s beyond it before firing.

πŸ‘‰ 4. Communicate your plans
Let someone know where you’ll be hunting and when you plan to return.

πŸ‘‰ 5. Respect hunting regulations
Know and follow all hunting laws and regulations set by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

πŸ‚ Stay safe out there, enjoy the beauty of the season, and good luck hunting - from Crystal Sinn and the rest of your friends at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center.

Two years ago today, we officially opened the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center!

Ean and Crystal - along with our entire family and staff - are eternally grateful for the open arms with which our community has welcomed us, and for the trust so many families have placed in us during their times of need.

When Ean was 17, he decided he would dedicate his life to caring for his hometown community as a funeral director. Two years into this chapter, that promise remains at the heart of everything we do. We are forever grateful to Greg Wohlhuter for joining us in this journey at our new funeral home!

From the beginning, this venture didn’t unfold quite the way we first imagined. But in the end, everything worked out exactly as it was meant to. What began as a unique idea - purchasing the Methodist Church in Trimont while continuing to host their worship services here - soon evolved into something greater.

Before we knew it, we had branched out to three locations, with locations in Welcome and Sherburn. We’re deeply thankful for the relationships we’ve built with the Trimont Methodist Church, St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome, and the First Congregational Church in Sherburn throughout this journey. Now, in addition to Greg, we also have Mary Ebeling and Royce Murra assisting us. Ean's family has also played an important part in our business, from helping with renovations, painting, cleaning, helping at community events and at funeral services.

We’ve experienced the highs and lows of construction, with plenty of moments where things went wrong before they turned out right. We never expected to host so many community events, group meetings, and family gatherings in addition to our funeral services - but it’s been an honor to provide a welcoming space for connection in each of our communities.

Through trial, error, and more than a few cups of coffee, we’ve built something we’re truly proud of: a place where families feel cared for, understood, and at home.

Over these two years, we’ve walked beside many families as they’ve said goodbye to their loved ones. We’ve helped others plan ahead with peace of mind and shared laughter and stories with those planning their own services. We’ve worked together to design meaningful monuments that ensure every life is remembered and every story is honored.

Through all the changes to our buildings and our business, one thing has remained constant: our mission to offer local, personal, and affordable care - not corporate, not cookie-cutter, just personal. We are proud to be Martin County's ONLY 100% Family Owned and Locally Operated Funeral Homes. If you have any questions on planning ahead, transferring your preneed from another funeral home, or how we can help you even if we don't have a location in your town, please reach out to us anytime at 507-639-5711!

To every family who’s trusted us with the care of their loved one, and all of the family, friends, and community members who have supported us along the way - thank you for believing in what we’re building - we couldn't do it without you. πŸ’›

Please enjoy this assortment of pictures from the last two years!
