It was the Cat's Meow at Eddy Heritage House as our second-floor residents and staff were treated to the best surprise ever when our pet therapy cats dropped by for a visit! These affectionate, gentle felines brought lots of sweet smiles, soft purrs, and cozy cuddle moments for all. The cat therapy visits are always a favorite and time spent with these purrfect pets made everyone's day. Unfortunately, the adorable kitties only have enough energy for one unit at a time (it's HARD WORK being this cute, you know)! We are already looking forward to their return next month when they visit our 3rd floor! Meow!

Residents at Eddy Heritage House had an absolute blast at Mardi Gras yesterday... and they didn't even have to leave the ground! Our amazing team brought a little bit of New Orleans right into our building with our own Mardi Gras Parade down our own makeshift Bourbon Street! Residents and staff alike joined in the high energy fun. Residents donned Mardi Gras masks and flowered leis. Colorful beads were flying. Festive music was playing. And joy, laughter, and wide smiles were all around!

Well, what can we say about ugly Christmas sweaters? Some might say they're over-the-top, tacky, or just plain U-G-L-Y! It's National Ugly Sweater Day and here at Eddy Heritage House, we find them rather entertaining -- and maybe even downright merry! Check out the ones we've spotted on our staff and how these festive fashions have brought joy and smiles all around!

Meet Madelayne "Maddie" Krill, assistant director of nursing and infection control nurse here at Eddy Heritage House. During this International Infection Prevention Week Oct. 19-25, we want to take a moment to celebrate Maddie and the vital role she plays in ensurruing the health and safety of our residents, staff, and visitors throughout the year! During this Financial and Accounting Week Sept. 23-27, Eddy Heritage House is celebrating Tim Berger, director of finance for our Residential Services Division, which is comprised of seven nursing homes, including Eddy Heritage House. We thank Tim for his great dedication and leadership in all that he does for us year round!

You may not know these smiling faces but they are behind all the smiles from our happy residents here at Eddy Heritage House and the many activities and programs they enjoy. From the more traditional bingo and co****le to trendier community activities like axe throwing (yes, axe throwing... adapted safely) and popular country drives, to summer outings for ice cream and soon-to-be fall trips for warm apple cider, this creative and talented group makes up our Recreational Therapy Department (l to r): Manager of Activities Deb Lashwa; and activities assistants Tracy Buck, Clara Pratt, Donna Lucey, Erica White, and Carly Iannone. Leader Deb says she tries to adapt new community trends so that residents can participate in a variety of new activities safely. Ladies, thank you for ALL that you do for our residents to make every day brighter and sweeter for them! ❤
