Not all fibroids are the same. Their size and where they grow play a big role in whether or not they impact fertility.

There are three main types of uterine fibroids, based on where they are found:
Subserosal (55%) – on the outer wall of the uterus
Intramural (40%) – in the muscular wall of the uterus
Submucosal (5%) – inside the uterine cavity

While most people with fibroids will not be infertile because of them, certain fibroids can affect your ability to conceive, especially those that are inside the uterine cavity (submucosal) or very large (>6 cm in diameter) within the wall of the uterus (intramural).

In honor of National French Fry Day, let's talk about it!

Did you know eating french fries after an embryo transfer is a lucky tradition in the infertility community? 🍀

Although there is no research to suggest that eating french fries will help boost implantation, if snacking on some yummy fries will make you happy after a nerve-racking day, go for it!

Who ate french fries after their embryo transfer? Drop a 🍟 in the comments!

Today is National Bereaved Parents Day, a day to recognize and support parents grieving the loss of a child, no matter the age or circumstances.

This year's theme, “Together We Are Stronger,” reminds us of the power of shared connection and support.

If you're walking this path, you are not alone. If you know someone who is, a message of remembrance today might mean more than you know.

July is Fibroid Awareness Month!

Uterine fibroids are tumors of collections of muscle tissue that grow in the uterus. They are typically noncancerous, and affect up to 70% of women of reproductive age.

Fibroids can vary widely in size, shape, and number. Although the exact cause is still unknown, genetics, hormones, and environmental influences can play a role.

In some cases, fibroids can affect fertility or increase the risk of pregnancy complications. Whether fibroids cause symptoms or require treatment depends on their location, size, and number.

All month long, we’ll be sharing important information to help you better understand fibroids and how they may affect your reproductive health.

Happy International Pineapple Day! 🍍

In the fertility community, the pineapple is more than just a fruit. It is a symbol of perseverance, strength, and shared hope. With its tough exterior and crown held high, it reminds us of the resilience so many show on their path to parenthood.

At RMA of Michigan, we’re proud to support every path to parenthood and the powerful stories behind them.

Today, we honor the courage it represents, and the community it connects!

This week marks the first National Black (In)Fertility & Reproductive Health Week, created by Fertility for Colored Girls and Rev. Stacey Edwards-Dunn to highlight the systemic barriers that Black individuals often face when accessing fertility and reproductive care.

Black women are more likely to experience infertility but less likely to receive treatment. They are also significantly more at risk for pregnancy-related complications. These outcomes are not just statistics, they reflect ongoing disparities driven by systemic bias.

We believe in a future where every journey to parenthood is supported with compassion and expertise. At RMA of Michigan, are committed to providing inclusive, respectful, and informed care to everyone.
