It’s not just about the “crack.”

An upper cervical adjustment focuses on the top two bones in your spine. These areas protect your brainstem and play a big role in nerve communication, posture, balance, and how your entire body moves and functions.

When these joints aren’t moving the way they should, it can create stress throughout the nervous system. A precise, gentle adjustment restores proper motion, supports healthy nerve flow, and helps your body do what it’s designed to do.

And although the "pop" is not always necessary for a good adjustment, it is pretty satisfying 😌

Chiropractic care is more than the adjustment, but the adjustment is where it all began.

Intern Owen has been putting in the work with our athletes!

Here, he’s helping a college basketball player improve mobility, strength, and performance with:
Quadriceps length work + reverse Nordic curlsCalf & hamstring length drillsDNS Bear Pike exercise for core control and stability

These movements help keep athletes explosive on the court, resilient against injury, and ready to play at their best.

MODALITY HIGHLIGHT: Blood Flow Restriction (BFR)

We’re always looking for the most effective tools to help you heal faster, move better, and stay strong through every stage of recovery and BFR is one of our favorites.

BFR involves using a specialized cuff to partially restrict blood flow to a limb during low-load exercise, triggering the body to build muscle and strength as if you were lifting heavy without placing stress on joints or injured tissue. That means you can train safely and effectively, even while recovering.

We use BFR to:Support post-surgical recoveryRehab ankle sprains, tendon injuries, and moreBoost strength with minimal joint loadImprove athletic performance and enduranceHelp you return to activity faster and safer

Whether you're recovering from injury, bouncing back from surgery, or training to perform your best, BFR allows us to meet you where you are and get you where you want to go.

Evan is working with a patient experiencing numbness around a surgical scar. Over time, some scar tissue can disrupt normal nerve signaling, leading to reduced sensation or a “numb” feeling.

By precisely targeting the area with dry needling, we aim to stimulate local nerve endings, promote circulation, and improve the brain-body connection, helping the area feel more like it used to.

If you’re dealing with stubborn numbness or sensitivity issues from a scar, this *might* just be the missing piece in your recovery.

This past weekend, we had the incredible opportunity to host Dr. Lindsay Mumma at Wi******er Spine & Sport for a DNS Spine seminar.

Over 60 students and practicing chiropractors came together in our space to explore full spine biomechanics and hands-on full spine adjustment techniques. Dr. Mumma brought clarity, depth, and energy to a complex topic and we were honored to learn from one of the best.

We’re committed to staying at the forefront of research-backed care and constantly growing in our ability to serve you better.

Taping techniques are more than just athletic accessories, they’re tools rooted in science to support recovery, performance, and movement.

At their core, both kinesiology taping and sports taping are designed to support muscles and joints, but they serve different functions and are applied with different goals in mind.⁣

Kinesiology taping uses a stretchy, flexible tape that moves with the body. It’s often used to:

Relieve pain by lifting the skin and reducing pressure on underlying tissues
Improve circulation and blood flow to targeted areas
Promote lymphatic drainage and reduce swelling
Provide gentle support without restricting motion⁣

It’s commonly applied in cases of overuse injuries, muscle fatigue, or swelling, allowing for continued movement while still offering therapeutic benefits.⁣

Sports taping, on the other hand, uses a more rigid tape and is typically applied to:

Stabilize a specific joint or muscle group
Limit harmful or excessive movement
Protect healing tissue or prevent re-injury during activity⁣

This method is often seen in acute injuries or situations where controlled movement is key like taping an ankle before returning to the field.⁣

While both taping styles may look similar at a glance, they serve very different purposes. Choosing the right one depends on the goal: mobility vs. stability, support vs. restriction.⁣

Understanding the "why" behind these tools helps us make better choices in recovery, injury prevention, and movement optimization.⁣
