Today, we honor the many ways “mothering” shows up in the world. 💛
To the mothers raising children while balancing exhaustion, uncertainty, and love that never seems to run out.
To the single mothers, adoptive mothers, foster mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, and chosen mothers who stepped into the role with courage and care.
To the women longing to become mothers.
To the mothers who have experienced loss, grief, or estrangement.
To those navigating postpartum struggles quietly behind smiles.
To the caregivers, mentors, aunties, and nurturers whose presence has helped shape lives in meaningful ways.
We also hold space today for those whose relationship with their mother carries pain. For some, Mother’s Day brings grief, disappointment, trauma, absence, or complicated emotions that are difficult to name. Some are mourning mothers they deeply loved. Others are healing from mothers who could not provide the safety, love, or protection they needed.
Both truths can exist at the same time.
Motherhood is powerful, complex, imperfect, sacrificial, healing, and deeply human. The role a mother or maternal figure plays can shape how we see ourselves, experience love, build relationships, and move through the world. That impact can bring comfort and strength, or wounds that take time and support to heal.
Today, we honor all experiences without judgment. Whether today feels joyful, heavy, bittersweet, or lonely, we see your experience, and we hold space for every emotion this day may bring.
Happy Mother’s Day to every person carrying the beauty and complexity of this journey. 💐
