30 Years of Dedication, 27 Years of Independence.

This November, we’re celebrating Christy - who marks an incredible 30 years working at Kroger! For the past 27 years, she’s also been living independently with us, building a life filled with purpose, pride, and community.

Christy’s journey is a testament to what’s possible when individuals are supported, encouraged, and given the tools to thrive. Her success isn’t just her own - it’s shared by everyone who’s helped make it possible.

We’re deeply grateful for the community that stands behind our students.
Imagine how many more futures we can build together.

Join us in congratulating Christy on this amazing achievement - and thank you for being part of the journey.

Fall fun + friendship in action!

Our Skill Building Program members spent an afternoon at the cider mill, sharing laughs, practicing money management and social skills, and, of course, enjoying donuts & cider.

Outings like this aren't just a day out: they're hands on opportunities to build independence, confidence, and community.

At Independence College, our students don’t just learn about the world - they learn how to connect with it.

The students are currently studying different cultures, exploring diverse perspectives, traditions, and global issues, gaining the insight and empathy that help them grow into thoughtful, engaged community members.

By understanding the world around them, they’re better prepared to contribute meaningfully to the communities they’re part of - today and in the future.

Yesterday, we had a tiny problem with one of our vehicles - the handicap tag slipped between the windshield and dashboard (how does that even happen?!).

We stopped by Troy Auto Care, and they didn’t hesitate to jump in and help us out - with their usual care, skill, and kindness.

They’ve been incredible community partners, always going above and beyond to keep us rolling safely and smoothly. We’re so grateful for their continued support and generosity - they truly treat us like family.

Thank you, Troy Auto Care, for being such a vital part of our journey!
