Women Owned Business Spotlight - Kate Lins

Dr. Kate Lins is the owner of Upper Valley Hearing & Balance, Inc. located on S Market St. in Troy. Upper Valley Hearing & Balance is a full service audiology practice and has served the Miami Valley Region for over 40 years.

What motivated you to start your own business?

One of the reasons I was motivated to own my own audiology practice is because, in addition to providing our community with the highest quality hearing healthcare, I wanted to be able to offer other women the same flexibility I have enjoyed to balance their personal and professional lives. We have a staff of six audiologists, one audiology student, and three office staff members, which I am proud to say are all women! Most of our staff work part time, allowing them time to enjoy a professional career while also having time to spend with their families and also pursue personal interests including volunteering within their churches, schools, or communities.
