We’re gearing up for the I-75 rest areas to open back up, and that means lots of prep behind the scenes. Today’s task: sorting shirts and vests for all the caretakers returning to work!

🌿 DNR Contract Crew Spotlight! 🌿

Meet Nathan B. and Jason B., two hardworking members of our team who help keep our DNR sites looking their best. This contract is completed every other Wednesday from April through October, and these two bring their A-game each time.

Their responsibilities include mowing trails and entranceways and w**d whacking around signs and tree lines to ensure the paths stay clear and welcoming.

In the photos above, Nathan and Jason are removing limbs from a fallen tree so the supervisor can safely mow the area. Great teamwork and dedication! 💪🌲

Our folks were drumming, swaying, and totally feeling the rhythm. When you’re having this much fun, you hardly notice you’re also boosting communication, confidence, and emotional expression.

🚧 Team Spotlight at Route 33 Westbound! 🚧

Today we’re excited to highlight Emma J. and Jason P., two dedicated team members helping keep Route 33 Westbound clean and welcoming for all travelers. Their responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, mopping floors, emptying trash cans, and maintaining the grounds.

In the photo above, Jason is showing Emma the ropes on her very first day—teaching her how to properly clean the water fountain. We love seeing teamwork in action! 💪✨

Caleb, a participant in our Launch Program, is hard at work on a project for Rosebud’s Real Food out of Covington! 👏 He’s taking care of tearing the foam along the perforation and organizing the panels into neat, orderly stacks! Great work, Caleb! 💪

💼 RT works at SEW twice a week, contributing directly to the production process. Once on the production floor, the team focuses on completing a set number of parts each day. Together, they install gaskets onto part covers that go over the motors used by the rest of the production line. After the gaskets are in place, they secure each cover with four screws, preparing them for the next stage of production.

Community Engagement Specialist, Lauren shared, "Our group has always been curious about the The Dayton Art Institute whenever we pass it on the interstate so we finally decided to stop in! 🎨 They absolutely loved it! We explored incredible exhibits, learned about different cultures and how they express themselves through art, and even created our own art puzzle pieces at the park afterward. Such a fun and inspiring day!" 🖼️✨

🌟 Launch Program Spotlight! 🌟
Pictured are Kaleb and Drew busy recycling cardboard at UVMC for the Nutritional Services Department always keeping things clean and green! ♻️

Pictured is Aiden packaging cookies 🍪 for UVMC’s employee appreciation breakfast, and later, Drew and Kaleb joined in to help package even more cookies that were shared with hospital staff. What a great way to support the team and spread some smiles! 😊

The Launch Program is a one-year, high school transition program for individuals with disabilities, providing training and education that lead to community employment. This program serves as a workforce alternative for young adults (ages 18–22) who defer their diploma and are in their final year of high school.

We’re so proud of all the hard work these students are doing as they build skills for their future! 💼✨
