CEO-WIC Breastfeeding

CEO-WIC Breastfeeding WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselors are moms just like you that have breastfed their children and are Show you how to hold a breastfeeding baby.

The Peer Counselors host a Breastfeeding Support Group on the third Thursday of each month at the main office in Troy. Your Breastfeeding Peer Counselor can:

Give you information you need to get off to a good start. Listen to your concerns. Help you plan how breastfeeding can continue to work when you return to work or school. Be there for you when things don’t go as you planned. WIC is breastfeeding friendly! WIC has a lactation room where breastfeeding mothers can use their breast pump or nurse their little one in private.

Your stress did not “ruin” your milk, and needing sleep does not make you a bad mom 💕
Stress can slow let down and exhaustion makes everything feel heavier, but your body is still working for your baby. Be kind to yourself, ask for help, and reach out for support if it feels too much 🍼✨

Researchers have found something remarkable, babies who received only colostrum in their first 72 hours of life were five times less likely to develop a peanut allergy, and eleven times less likely to develop multiple food allergies.

This study matters so much because it confirms that how we feed our babies in those first few days truly matters. Those first drops of milk aren’t just important, they’re powerful, protective, and packed with lifelong benefits.

Did you feel supported to give your baby just colostrum in those first few days?

And as always, you’re allowed to feel proud of every single drop of breastmilk you gave your baby 💛
