Spring Yoga

As spring begins to breathe life into our world again, we should all take some time to do the same for our bodies and hearts. Beginning in May, I'm offering Pranayama Yoga classes. Pranayama simply means breath control. It is about using the breath we mostly take for granted -as it flows in and out of our bodies- to relax, revive, and restore ourselves after a long winter of hibernation. We will learn to use our breath in various ways to deepen and enrich our yoga practice. Imagine getting into your favorite pose and using the breathe to deepen and sink into it, opening and growing, much like a new flower! The techniques and exercises that we will embrace can help us get the most out of our yoga practice and allow an even greater increase in our flexibility, strength, balance, and well-being. Hopefully, weather permitting, we will be able to do our sessions outdoors!

- Place: Mt. Pisgah Nature Center
-Classes will run on Mondays, for five weeks, excluding holidays, beginning May 9, 2016 at 5:30
-Space is limited so you must preregister and pay in full by May 6, 2016

I have been frequently requested to offer a workshop or seminar on how to give someone you love and care about, a great massage. What better time to do this than around Valentines Day ?!

The Couple's Massage Workshop is designed to introduce you to the power of touch in your life and give you many of the massage skills that you will need to keep your partner or friend relaxed and feeling wonderful!

The workshop is for couples or friends (any two people over the age of 18) and it is approximately two hours long, which will allow enough time for technique, demonstration and practice!

A lot of the techniques that we will teach are taught in massage therapy schools or continuing education classes, so you will be learning many of the same skills that your professional massage therapist is learning and using.

Some of the topics which will be covered in the workshop are...

-how to use proper technique so that your hands don't tire out as quickly.
-different types of therapeutic touch and which to use when and where
-proper use of pressure and positioning of the body
-how to create a relaxing atmosphere
-and much more!
