Join the Uncovery Collective for Miles that Matter - a Truckee High student-led 5K Run/Walk and free community festival on Sunday, September 21st at Truckee River Regional Park at 10a. Proceeds will support girls in Tanzania with menstrual health products and the EmpowerHER Workbook, giving them the tools to stay in school and build their futures with confidence.

Our therapist, Vanessa Heffington, has just come out with an impactful new video course on why kids do what they do that will help you decode the chaos. This quick and parent-friendly course will teach you a super simplified version of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to recognize what’s triggering the behavior, what it means, what keeps it going, and most important how to disrupt the patterns. This isn’t about controlling your child — it’s about gaining insight into what drives their behavior. If you’re ready to feel more confident in understanding your child’s needs and actions, this course is a perfect launchpad.

Our wonderful therapist, Joseph Weinstein, LMFT, currently has in-person openings in downtown Truckee on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Joseph is accepting inquiries for child, adolescent, and adult clients. As part of Truckee Pride Week, we are excited to host an LGBTQIA+ Family Mixer (parents, kids, or allies) on Tuesday 6/3 from 5:30-6:30p. Come to connect, build community, and celebrate love and inclusion. The night will include Drag Story Time with the fabulous Donna Davis, plus free refreshments, resources, and giveaways all while meeting new friends.

Our wonderful therapist, Vanessa Heffington (MFT & Behavioral Specialist), is offering an in-person CBT Skills Group in Truckee for youth ages 10-12. It will be held 4 consecutive Thursdays starting 5/22-6/12 from 5:15-6:45 (90 minutes each session). It will focus on identifying and understanding, thought traps, feelings/emotions, choices, and coping strategies. Each session combines psychoeducation with fun games and creative expression, all while tapping into nature. Spots are limited. $250 for all 4 sessions.
