Your thoughts might feel loud right now.
Fast. Repetitive. Unforgiving.

That’s okay — minds do that.
You don’t have to push them away.
You just have to remember that you can return.

Two words can bring you back:
🌬 Inhale: This.
🌿 Exhale: Now.

Let those words anchor you.
Not to force calm — but to remember presence.
And when the noise softens, even just a little,
ask yourself gently:
“What would the kindest next step be?”

That’s mindfulness.
Not perfection. Not performance.
Just returning — again and again — with care.

Headache? Neck or back pain?

Do the psoas and neck muscles have a relationship? You bet they do! When the psoas is tight and dysfunctional, it causes the pelvis to anteriorly tilt. This results in the head swaying forward and causing the posterior neck muscles to tighten and work harder. Often the scalenes are overworking and the psoas is underworking. It is important of treating the psoas when there is neck and back pain.

YOU ARE AMAZING!!

Your body is a masterpiece, truly one of a kind. There is no one like you, even identical twins have unique fingerprints, eye patterns, and brain wiring. Your body is constantly working behind the scenes, healing cuts, rebuilding bones, and regenerating cells. Your brain processes more information than any computer and holds more memory than entire libraries. Your heart has its own rhythm, no one else in the world has the same beat. Whether it’s stress, injury, or extreme conditions, your body knows how to adjust and survive. You’re not just one in a million, you’re one in 8 billion!

Your cranium and jaw are strongly related to your pelvis.

Every part of your jaw system is connected to your posture in ways most people never realize.

When your jaw position shifts, your head and shoulders follow. The body instantly compensates to keep your eyes level, which leads to neck tension, shoulder elevation, and forward head posture.

When your tongue function is off, it directly affects the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) through the way it presses on the teeth and palate.

Poor tongue posture destabilizes the jaw, forcing the surrounding muscles to tighten and pull unevenly.

Your teeth and tongue work together to guide jaw position. When that relationship is off balance, the TMJ shifts, and the head posture changes with it.

This creates a ripple effect down the neck and spine, altering the body’s center of gravity.

And when you have a crossbite, that imbalance becomes structural. One side of the jaw moves differently than the other, creating asymmetry for which rest of the body must correct, from the jaw to the pelvis.

Here is the truth: if you have any one of these issues, your posture is already compensating. If you have two, three, or all four, your body is living in constant adaptation.

This is not about standing straighter or stretching more. It is about understanding that your bite, your tongue, and your jaw mechanics are dictating how your entire body aligns.

Fixing your jaw will help your posture.

What if chronic stress could literally turn your body's lubricant into glue? 😬🕸️

Between fascial layers, there's hyaluronic acid (HA) - the same substance in face creams and joint injections.

In its healthy state, it's a super-lubricant with long molecular chains that bind tons of water, allowing fascial layers to glide smoothly over each other.

But when you're stressed, dehydrated, or inflamed, hyaluronic acid changes its molecular structure.

Those long, slippery chains break down into shorter fragments that stick together rather than lubricate. This creates what researchers call "densification" - the fascial layers essentially lose their glide and stick together.

Here's where it gets painful: nerve fibers run through these fascial layers.

When the layers can't slide properly, those nerves get trapped and stretched during normal movement.

This mechanical stress on nerve fibers can create pain signals - even when nothing is actually injured.

The fasci(a)nating part? This process is reversible. 🎉

Movement stimulates hyaluronic acid production and turnover.

Manual therapy creates pressure changes that help to reorganize the sticky HA fragments.

Proper hydration supports HA's water-binding capacity that keeps things flowing.

It's like having natural oil that turns into cement when you're stuck in stress.

The good news: you can transform it back through movement, bodywork, self-care and lifestyle changes.

This is why rest isn't always the answer for pain. Sometimes what feels "stuck" literally is stuck - and needs movement to unstick it.

PELVIC TENSEGRITY

[FUNCTIONAL ANATOMY]

The pelvis is the center of gravity and the largest bony complex in the human body. The pelvis and sacrum are linked via strong ligaments and muscles, creating a tension system that works with the compression-bearing bones to create a local tensegrity system.

These ligaments include the posterior SI ligaments (Iliotransversosacral, Axile, Zaglas, Bichat), anterior SI ligaments, the iliolumbar ligaments and the sacrotuberous and sacrospinous ligaments.

Locally, these ligaments need to have balanced tension to maintain SI joint integrity and normal bone positions in space. If one of these ligaments is injured and loses its optimal tension/quality, disruption of the tensegrity balance ensues. This leads to increased compression stress in the pelvis/SI and hip joints, but also leads to distortion of the global tensegrity of the body.

The first picture shows a normal, balanced pelvis icosahedron on the left with the horizontal balance beams through L4 and the greater trochanter did the femurs. The second picture shows the consequence of any injury to the right SI joint/ligament complex. This leads to pelvic and sacral shifting, unleveling of L3 (blue dot) and functional scoliosis, anterior-inferior shift of the left ilium, valgus stress in the left knee, and pronation stress in the left foot-ankle. The white arrow represents the downward compressive force of gravity. If the tensegrity is balanced, the body can adequately resist gravity without breakdown.

Disruption of this tensegrity system is the source of joint degeneration and pain, all results of decreased space/compression in the joints.

This is but one example of how loss of connective tissue tension/quality leads to compression stresses as well as local and global distortions of the tensegrity system.

In biotensegrity, micro affects macro, local affects global.
