I am offering my 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) class starting Feb 21st. Orientation will be Sunday, Feb 13th.

I am also offering a 4 week class "Exploring Mindfulness For The Management of Pain" that will begin on March 16th and March 17th (2 separate classes).

Offering an Introduction To Mindfulness class:

Are you curious about my upcoming 8-week MBSR class, but feel like you are not sure if you want to commit to an 8-week class yet? Are you curious to learn a little bit more about mindfulness?

I am excited to announce that I will be offering an 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) class, starting on Thursday, June 3rd.

I am giving a $50 discount to the first 5 people who sign up for the class!

This 8-week MBSR class is an intensive training in mindfulness meditation and stress reduction techniques. The curriculum is designed to teach you how to practice, integrate, and apply mindfulness to your everyday life. During this course, participants will practice formal and informal mindfulness as well as gentle yoga.

This is an experiential course where a good portion of each class will be spent learning different formal mindfulness practices, such as a body scan, seated focused attention practice, mindful communication, etc. We will learn to observe our own stress patterns and learn skillful responses for dealing with the stressors in our life.

Are you looking for a little bit of down time? Perhaps, some time to take care of yourself and improve your mental and emotional health? Here’s your chance!
You can invest in your overall well-being by joining me for an Introduction to Mindfulness class. This 1.5-hour interactive session, via zoom, will explore what mindfulness is, the benefits of mindfulness, and how you can begin to incorporate it into your life. This is primarily an experiential class, with 40 minutes of mindfulness practices, some group dialogue, and a little bit of didactic learning. This session is based on the 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program, created by Jon Kabat Zinn.

‘Tis the season!! Give the gift of calm this holiday season!
I have been busy over the past couple months working on my MBSR teacher training. With that being said, I am offering a couple of Introduction to Mindfulness sessions in January. This is a 1.5 hour interactive session that will include what mindfulness is, the benefits of mindfulness, and how you can start to incorporate it into your daily life. It will include mindfulness meditation, interactive dialogue between participants, and some didactic learning. Mindfulness can be helpful for people who are under a lot of stress, have anxiety, depression, have been diagnosed or are battling cancer, have cardiac conditions, chronic pain, or people who are looking to bring some calmness into their lives. Times are uncertain, anxiety-provoking, and challenging right now. The worries of schools re-opening and the concerns of how do we balance our work and possibly teaching our children. The overall mental strain all of this has put on so many of us. The longing for a sense of normalcy...if only for a day. The list goes on and on.
When you rest your head on your pillow each night. Try taking a nice deep breath in and then a long exhale out. As you exhale, trying to breath out the stresses of the day...things that were said, things that happened, and any other stress and anxiety that is present in your mind and body. Bring in a few more nourishing breaths, breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth, and then allow your body to settle in for a good night of sleep. Remember tomorrow is a new day and you got this!

When we stop to take a look at our thoughts and emotions, we often see the enormous amount of time and emotional energy that we waste stuck in our thoughts and emotions, which does not serve us well. Mindfulness practice is about being in the present moment, the here and now. The more often we bring our attention into the present moment, the more clearly we can see how our thoughts and emotions only serve to keep us stuck in the past or in the future, with guilt, worry, anxiety, and fear.
We can learn to get unstuck from these patterns by simply becoming more aware of our thoughts and emotions, and then choosing to be more present in our lives.

This pandemic has been a very challenging time for everyone. Plans are constantly changing. The uncertainty of life and our need to be flexible can feel completely exhausting. We tend to yearn for more moments when we can let go and not worry that things will fall apart if we do.
The truth is that it takes daily practice to “undue” your mental habits of worry and anxiety. A few minutes of mindfulness daily can do just that. The Mindful Parenting workshop has been moved back 1 week and the time has been shifted to a 7:30pm start time, instead of 8pm start time, in an attempt to hopefully accomodate more people. This 4 week workshop will now begin on Wedneday, June 17th from 7:30pm-9:00pm. There is still space in the workshop and I would love for you to join us!
