Emily Teixeira and Maziel Mejia-Edwards from the Family Center at St. Vincent’s Special Needs School program had the privilege of supporting the Vizhco family as they received a fully accessible van, generously funded in full by nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping families in need.

This life-changing gift will provide greater accessibility, independence and opportunity for the family.

The Nightingale Awards celebrate the dedication, compassion, and expertise of our nurses.

Pam always practices with curiosity, never judges, mentors intentionally and leads with a firm, guiding hand. Nurses she guides develop stronger assessment and documentation skills, plus greater confidence in managing complex patient situations. Her readiness to lead shows profound commitment to the people we serve. Named interim director of St. Vincent’s Special Needs, she identified key concerns and partnered with colleagues to correct and strengthen processes. She repeatedly steps in during leadership gaps, provides structure, repairs processes and supports colleagues through challenging transitions.
