The Spring Meadows Intergenerational Program meets once a month in partnership with Honey Tree Preschool. This month’s theme was “Racing to Success.” During the visit, residents encouraged and supported the preschoolers as they explored numbers 1 through 7. Everyone enjoyed sharing their favorite colors, and the children participated in a fun scavenger hunt focused on number recognition. These joyful interactions foster meaningful connections between generations.
Benefits of Intergenerational Programs:
Mutual Learning and Enrichment:
Children gain valuable social and emotional skills, while older adults enjoy the sense of purpose that comes from mentoring and guiding the younger generation.
Improved Well-being for Seniors:
Regular interaction with children has been shown to reduce feelings of loneliness, increase happiness, and even improve cognitive function in older adults.
Building Empathy and Understanding:
These programs help bridge generational gaps, fostering respect and appreciation between age groups, and promoting a more inclusive and compassionate community.

Ageless Adventures in Culinary Presented: “The Perfect Pairing”
Residents enjoyed a delightful evening of wine and dessert tasting on Monday, thanks to a special event sponsored and hosted by Wine and Hops.
As guests savored expertly paired wines and desserts, Charlie from Wine and Hops guided everyone through the tasting experience, sharing tips on how to select the perfect wine to complement each sweet treat. Residents engaged in thoughtful conversation, exchanging their opinions, preferences, and tasting notes with one another as each dessert was sampled.
The event fostered not only a deeper appreciation for fine pairings but also created a warm atmosphere of connection and community. Several new residents joined the fun, expressing how welcomed and engaged they felt by participating in such a unique event.
Life Enrichment Director, Lori Pachera, asked if anyone had ever done a wine and dessert tasting before—surprisingly, none had! This made the evening a truly new Ageless Adventure for all who attended.
A heartfelt thank you to Wine and Hops for creating a memorable and enriching evening for our residents.

National Assisted Living Week Wrap-Up:
Celebrating "Ageless Adventures"
National Assisted Living Week came to a joyful close today, and what a week it's been! This year’s theme, "Ageless Adventures," inspired a week full of exciting experiences as we explored the spirit of adventure through travel, sports, nature, arts and music, lifelong learning, and personal passions.
We wrapped up the week on a high note with an unforgettable harmonica concert. Residents had glowing things to say about the performance. Henry played straight from the heart, delivering classic tunes that had everyone singing along, reminiscing, and sharing stories sparked by the music.
As residents enjoyed the concert, they also delighted in a festive happy hour, complete with specialty cocktails like piña coladas, white Russians, peach Bellinis, as well as assorted wines, beers, and sodas—a perfect pairing for an evening of music and memory-making.
Cheers to the years, and cheers to ageless adventures! Here's to the incredible stories we've shared, and the many more still to come.

Each resident received a ballot and had the fun task of voting for "Best in Show." As they admired the cars and chatted with the owners, the excitement built throughout the afternoon.
To make the day even sweeter, Mr. Softee rolled in to treat everyone to delicious ice cream sundaes—thank you to Hancock Pharmacy for generously sponsoring this special treat!
It was a heartwarming way to wrap up National Assisted Living Week—gathering as a community, sharing sweet treats, and spending quality time with loved ones.

As we continue Age’s Adventures through Nature in celebration of National Assisted Living Week, residents recently enjoyed a calming and uplifting flower arranging activity with Restorative Blooms.
The moment you walked into the activity space, the fresh floral aroma swept over you—instantly transporting you to what felt like an English garden. The room was filled with vibrant colors, gentle conversation, and shared memories, as residents connected over their favorite flowers and offered tips and stories from past gardening experiences.
There’s a saying that laughter is good medicine—and at Spring Meadows, we believe flower arranging is medicine for the soul. It's a timeless, nature-inspired activity that transcends generations.
Each bouquet is a fresh creation, offering something new every time.

Residents had the opportunity to explore the community by searching for eight familiar nature-themed images placed throughout the community.
Participants who completed the hunt were entered into a raffle for a chance to win a $25 prize. The scavenger hunt continues throughout the week, and the lucky winner will be announced this Saturday during our Car Show.
It’s a fun and interactive way to connect with nature—and each other!
