The highest rate of breast cancer in the US is in Connecticut and Long Island. Early detection of any cancer can save lives. Annual screening mammograms should be performed on any woman beginning at the age of 40 with baseline done between the ages of 35-40 years old. At Women’s Choice Aesthetics and Mammography, we have a dedicated staff who has been performing mammograms, ultrasounds and biopsies for many years! Dr. Neil Specht sits down with all his patients and discusses their results on the same day.

In Connecticut, you do not need a physician’s order to get your screening mammogram- we are a self referral state. Women with dense breasts as seen on screening mammography, need additional imaging with ultrasound. Connecticut state has mandated that insurances must cover ultrasound imaging in women who have dense breast tissue as well as screening mammograms. See Senate Bill No. 458.
