Whether or not you are in health or senior care, or are a family or professional caregiver, self care is vital.
How do you practice it? Some people:
• Go for a walk
• Get a massage
• Do yoga or meditation
• Exercise or play a sport
• Have coffee with friend(s)
• Read a book
• Listen to music
Along with some of those, I like to “escape” to a favorite scenic and relaxing place.
I am on Vancouver Island, BC again. I love the relative quiet, the beauty of the area, and the friendly people. I am not only volunteering, networking, and socializing, but also walking along the endless parks, rivers, and lakes, and (of course) playing pickleball. And, beyond a vacation, living among and like the locals. It is a favorite way to relax and recharge in my version of an island paradise.
Yes, I continue to advise and support caregivers. I am still available for consultation and facilitating my support groups and memory cafe. I also continue my other volunteer work virtually. I can still be reached by phone, email, text, and Zoom…just not in person. (See below for contacting me).
I look forward to hearing from or reconnecting with many of you in the months to come. Let me know how you practice self-care or how I can support you.
That’s my passion.
